MURFREESBORO, TN — On her wedding night, 25-year-old Kate Elizabeth Prichard's marriage was already off to a bad start when she was arrested for allegedly pointing a pistol at her new husband's head and pulling the trigger.
Thankfully, the gun was not loaded. However, Prichard proceeded to load the gun and shot a round in the air outside the motel they were staying at, frightening guests. Authorities said she pulled the pistol out from the wedding dress she was still wearing.
According to eyewitness accounts, the couple had been drinking and arguing. When authorities arrived, the newlyweds were uncooperative and denied any wrongdoing. However, officers were flooded with witness testimony and police eventually found the gun that was used — Prichard tried hiding it in the bathroom.
It can be assumed that no one wants to spend the night of their wedding behind bars, unlike what Prichard experienced; she was booked at the Rutherford County Jail on an aggravated domestic violence charge.
