MILTON, FL — Earlier this week, 57-year-old Timothy Taylor was sentenced to only two years of probation after he crashed his police SUV into his ex-wife's home back in November 2016.

In newly-released dashcam footage, Deputy Taylor is seen parked in his police SUV outside the home of his ex-wife. With his ex-wife peering out the front door from inside and then shutting it, Taylor accelerates his patrol vehicle into the home, causing immense damage. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Citing personal relationship problems, Taylor claimed he was under the influence of prescription drugs and how the crash was actually a suicide attempt.

After the incident, he resigned from the Escambia County Sheriff's Department and pled no contest to DUI and criminal mischief.

He was ordered to pay restitution for the damages sustained to the police cruiser and his ex-wife's house.
